sweet time was had in the seattle area.
while rocky worked, i played.
spent one day with a childhood friend,
dodging raindrops, eating out, antiquing and thrifting.
the next was spent with dEby from apples to gold,
basking in sunshine, eating out, antiquing and thrifting.
treasures found, hearts shared, tummies full. there was one day in the hotel by myself, resting, walked to marlene's for an amazing salad lunch, evenings with rocky, we spent part of a day in the heart of
seattle with my hub, and a travel day. lotsa days.
{{{ wonderment }}}
. but .
. there's no place like home .
returning home last night, we quickly unpacked and changed into jammies. i whipped up some scrambled eggs with saute'd red onion, cream cheese, and seasonings. oh, and made a little stack of biscuits to go along ... so good to eat our own food after a week of eating out .. though eating out *is* a treat!
i really enjoyed being with rocky on one of his trips. i also really enjoyed spending time with my childhood friend, karen; it's been many years and we picked up where we left off {true friends}. she's a florist and took a day off from her very busy schedule to pal around with the likes of me. twenty-three {& a half} years ago she did the flowers for my wedding!
and i loved meeting dEby and spending time with her in Port Orchard and having a tea lunch at debbie macomber's tea room{!}. curry chicken salad..thud. dEby's a sweetheart through and through and dragged me {kicking and screaming..right} to awesome places full of treasures. here's a picture of us:
and so .. laundry is my focus this morning. and buying a few grocery items. and maybe even taking a nap on the couch. i may even go look at a bed for our future furr-baby. we'll adopt through a golden retriever rescue organization that really takes care of the dogs, meeting health needs and assessing their behavior to ensure proper placement. we appreciate the extra care.
as mentioned in my last post, our home visit is monday morning. they'll ensure our home and yard is safe,
and that we're normal {uh oh...}.
the latter might be a problem area. wink.
bless you dearly,
" jAne "

Beautiful photo of both of you jAne dear.
What a special trip and the return home sounds delightful as well.
I pray that the home visit goes well, and that they will see your special home as an ideal place for one of their dogs. Goldens are sweet!

Glad you had such a wonderful trip. It's so fun to meet online friends, even when it's an accidental encounter at Trader Joe's! ;-) A day of quiet repose in a hotel room with a stack of books would suit me just fine after the busy of the holiday season.
Hoping good things for your upcoming pup adoption.
It was such a blessing to check my blog for comments and see so many from you!--I always love reading what you have to say. And thank you for the blog design compliments, I had *fun* putting this look together....the colors were inspired from my grandmother's china that I just received. :o)
Sounds like a FUN and BUSY week! But you are right, there is NO place like home.
So excited that you are getting a Golden!--They are just WONDERFUL, WONDERFUL companions.
I'm glad you are home again - safe and sound. It was SO hard for me to know that you were just a short ways north of my home and I couldn't see you. But God had other plans for each of our days. Port Orchard is dear to my heart - my sweetheart's dear parents lived there for a time. Can't wait to meet your new fur baby - thinking yours will be as big as mine is small! Do they want a character reference? I'll tell them what characters you are! :)

There is no place like home.
XOXOXO
Glad to hear you had a wonderful time. God is so good! :)
Oh, Miss jAne! Simple fare, such as eggs, does taste so very good in one's own home, doesn't it?
So glad you and Deby got to spend the day together. We're hosting a few bloggers over the next several days...I've written about it, and am thrilled to have these sweet souls here with us.
Can't wait to hear more about your new fur-baby!
Amen, indeed! Home is where it's at. Even though, Seattle is a beautiful place. Spent our honeymoon there. Have lots of good memories. ;)
You are beautiful, lady!
Oh, thanks so much for sharing that picture. It is wonderful you can travel with your husband. Ya'll are going to get a dog? Won't that put a drag on the traveling? Hugs ~
